Working together

My Approach

For me, therapy is not about one person arriving with all the answers and the other needing to be fixed. It is a collaborative process between two humans, figuring things out together.

A lot of my work is around identity, and giving you a space for reconnecting, or perhaps connecting for the first time, with who you are. This includes offering an affirming space for LGBTQ+ identities and neurodivergence, where all parts of you are welcome in the work.

Integrative and relational

I am interested in you, and in the experiences that have shaped you. My work is grounded in relational psychotherapy and integrative transactional analysis, which means I pay attention to patterns: how they developed, how they may once have helped, and whether they still fit who you are and the life you want now.

Therapies offered

In person

Osbaldwick, York

I offer face-to-face therapy from my room in Osbaldwick, York. There is parking available and good transport links from York City Centre.

For some people, it feels important to have a regular space away from home, work, or day-to-day life. Meeting in person can offer a sense of consistency and privacy, with a fixed time set aside to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what is going on for you.

Remote

Using secure online platforms

I also offer online therapy for clients who would prefer to meet remotely.

Online therapy can offer flexibility, especially if travelling to York is difficult, your schedule makes in-person sessions harder, or you would feel more comfortable speaking from your own space.

All you need is a private space where you feel able to talk, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

Walk and Talk

Outdoor spaces around York

I also offer walk and talk therapy in outdoor spaces around York. While we may not have the sea, there are still plenty of lovely places to walk.

Instead of sitting opposite one another in a therapy room, we walk side by side while we talk. Some people find this feels less intense, especially when talking about difficult or emotional things.

We can talk about whether it feels like the right option for you.

Begin with a conversation

I offer a free 30-minute chat by phone where we can have a first conversation, and work out whether working together feels like the right fit.
